At the NSC for the NACCM...

I am at the National Student Conference at the University of Southern Indiana for the next couple of days. It’s a yearly conference for campus ministries from around the country. All the ministries are part of the National Association of Christian Campus Ministries (far too many names, I know)

I’m using this time to see some good friends at meal times and study and prep for the fall teachings at Crossings during the rest of the day, (I’m pretty stinking excited about teaching John’s narrative starting in September).

For those that may not know, my wife and I were in campus ministry for 10 years (1994-2004) at Purdue University. This yearly conference was always a great time of learning and community for us…

It’s so good to get to spend some time with so many dear friends…breakfast with Todd Magruder, Joe Belzer & Tim Hawkins…lunch with Ken Liechty & Roger Songer…disc golf with Ken & Brad Smith after lunch…and dinner with Rob Schrumpf & Geneva Rawlins, among others…

There is a great fraternity, a real ‘band of brothers & sisters’ in the world of campus ministry. (Different than most other areas of ministry) Two yearly events are the only time they are all together. It’s hard to describe the depth of some of these relationships…

I’m very thankful for these people and the chance to continue to be in community with them…
