20 years...
My wife and I have been in Asheville, NC the last couple of days. (What a beautiful city with such an amazing downtown) We took a couple of days away to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. 20 years. Wow, that’s a long time to be married to the most wonderful, beautiful woman in the whole world.
It’s not been 20 perfect years, we’ve definitely not always been that ‘Regis & Kathy Lee’ perfect couple that does those marriage seminars (You know the kind I mean: that couple that never argues, spends 3 hours a day in devotions and prayer, and all 8 of their kids are on the mission field)…but, without a doubt, they have been the 20 best years of my life.
One of my favorite things in life to teach about is what I call the ‘art of settling’. How in issues of love, calling, etc. we find ways to be ‘just okay’ with who we’re with, or ‘resigned to settling’ for a relationship because we have a fear that it’s the best it will ever be when it actuality it’s not very good at all.
Woe to you if you settle… I honestly believe God has the ‘absolute best’ in mind for everyone…
And for 20 years I have been, and will continue to be, so incredibly thankful to God for giving me the ‘absolute best’.

Can you believe that it has been 10 years since you married Jenn and I? Congrats on your 20! We will always be 10 behind you.
