Such a good smell…

Some good things from yesterday’s worship gathering at DownTown West Theatre…(Our third week in the venue where Crossings, a faith community will meet)

-It was good thing that we finally got into the theatre after a 40-minute wait in the cold. (It seems someone overslept) Unfortunately, the procedure when something like this happens involves calling CineMedia in Colorado who then calls someone in Knoxville who then comes to open the theatre. The 40 minutes hurt us a lot, but better this week than on 2.11.

-It was a good thing to have around 60 of our Launch Community together to worship.

-Our Kids’ City programs were incredible in their setup and execution, they are so ready for Launch on 2.11.

-For me, personally, it felt so good to get to teach a little again. It’s been a while since I have been able to get into a rhythm by teaching every week. It felt very comfortable to talk about what it means to ‘live beyond ourselves’ and how much we have to unlearn as Crossings is birthed.

-And it was so good to share these words from Frederick Buechner about II Corinthians 2… “We are the aroma of Christ…Paul says…and the story we are given to tell is a story that smells of His life in all its aliveness, and our commission is to tell it in a way that makes it come alive as a story in all its aliveness and to make those who hear it come alive and God knows to make ourselves come alive too.”

May Crossings be a place that brings life while giving off the scent of Jesus.
