A spider, a pig, and a Happy Meal...
Life has been so incredibly busy the last few weeks.I know that makes sense, considering we’re 16 days away from the launch of Crossings, but the last couple of weeks have been especially frenetic.
So, that’s why it was so important yesterday to go to a movie with my 11-year-old daughter Meghan. We saw Charlotte’s Web. I love good stories and Charlotte’s Web is a classic, and the movie did it justice. For years it has been a really big deal to Meghan anytime I come and get her out of school, even if it’s ten minutes earlier than usual and take her to an afternoon matinee. I think it feels to her like we’re ‘sticking it to the man’ (to quote School of Rock).
Actually, it makes me feel the same way. Kind of like we’re sneaking away from our responsibilities for just a little while, a chance to breathe easy and escape a little and, of course, get a Happy Meal after the movie.
Life has got to full of these times…with our family, with friends on the disc golf course, or by myself on a bike trail in the middle of nowhere…
Everyone is better for it---my family, my friends, Crossings…
May I never be too busy for a good story and a Happy Meal with my daughter.
