Let me be perfectly clear…

Just in case there’s any uncertainty…if for some reason I haven’t been crystal clear… Let me be incontrovertibly lucid:
     I love the church.
And…I believe Jesus’ church is the hope of the world.

Sometimes when people venture into the world of church planting it’s interpreted to be because they have great distaste for the church, that they are running away from the church, rebelling against anything with a steeple.
That seems just a bit ridiculous to me. It seems unbelievably wacky to me to be a part of creating something that you dislike. Doesn’t it make more sense that someone’s passion and hope for the church would be the impetus to start something new?

Being a faith community helping people find their way back to God is the very clearly defined mission of Crossings, this new thing God is calling us to in Knoxville.
...to be a place where people can 'uncross their arms' when it comes to God
...to be one place where souls are awakened
...where community is more than 'just a good idea'
...and where we can stand on the desk and fall in love with Jesus all over again

That's the church...and let me be perfectly clear, I love the church.

Do you like what we have done to the church though?

The things we have done to divert the church from the call of Jesus causes me to mourn...it is definitely a feeling of loss more than a feeling of anger...

There are things about the church of today that brings me great joy...and there are things that cause me to weep...I think I'm just refusing to jump on that boat that says 'there's no hope for the church', I just don't believe that...

What I love is what Jesus had in mind for His bride...
