Always Broadway…
New York City for my family and I almost always includes seeing a show on Broadway.Throughout the years it’s been Lion King, Movin’ Out, Man a La Mancha just to name a few (still missing the elusive Wicked). A week or so ago on vacation it was no different….
The trick of going to a show on Broadway, at least for our family, is to never pay full price, which you can do by waiting til the day of the show and waiting in line for what seems like forever, to get tickets at half-price. Of course, you don’t always get the show that’s first on your list, but there are always good selections. The place you get these half-price tickets is called TKTS. Every other year we’ve gone to the TKTS booth in Times Square, and waited a long time. This year we tried the South Seaport booth and did well. Showing up 5 minutes before the booth closed, with no line whatsoever, we were able to secure decent seats for Billy Elliott (Wicked was sold out) We bought them on Friday evening for the Saturday matinee…

The show was great. There are five different boys who play the lead throughout the week of shows. I assume each are as good as the young man we saw play Billy. So unbelievably talented…
This might go without saying, but this time is always the highlight of Meghan’s trip to NYC…
