Outside my front door…

I am continually overwhelmed with gratitude that we at Crossings have been given the opportunity to be in 4 Market Square both for Sunday worship and for our offices. It is truly an amazing gift to be a part of this project.

One of the most fascinating things is the fact that anytime I step out of our office for some fresh air, to walk to my car, etc….you just never know what you might see out on the square.

Farmer’s Market a couple of times a week, Shakespeare on the Square starting up this week, Sundown in the City (a summer concert series drawing thousands every Thursday night), musicians playing for tips (my son included), yesterday there was a commercial being filmed just outside my door…you just never know what will be out there and the amount of people it may draw.

A fine example of that….Last Friday evening, around 7pm or so, I walked out of the building with my bike on the way to my car to go home. As I did, a big, furry being (about 7 feet tall or so) walked through the square, about 50 feet from me. My immediate thought (not what you might expect) was, “Randy?”.

Evidently I spoke my thought aloud and loud enough for the creature to hear, because he immediately turned and looked at me, and sure enough, it was Randy Cross, Crossings' very own.

It just so happened some Crossings people were walking by at the same time. So, of course, it was portrait time.

Now, I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure we’re one of very few churches who can say they have ‘that’ going on outside their front doors…

Jason has the same excited expression my mom does whenever I come visit.
