Church planting small group finishes…
Meeting since the end of July, ten times total, our church planting small group finished up this past Sunday night.Throughout our time together 14-18 people met to discuss God’s call on their lives, exploring this call of God to ‘the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet’.
We discussed and debated all aspects of planting a church--- the nuts and bolts, the philosophy
behind church planting, why you might plant a church, why you might not…and then, this past Sunday night we culminated our time with two 30-minute presentations of ‘pretend church plants’.These two groups did their demographic research, put together their beliefs and values and dreams, strategized the best ways to impact a new community…both presentations were amazing. Each group worked so hard, and perfected their presentations as they tried to ‘convince’ us to give them a $100,000 or so…
Philadelphia, PA and the Fountain Square area of downtown Indianapolis were the two areas pitched in the presentations.
This whole experience was great for our community…and I can’t wait to see what God decides to bring to fruition from these weeks together…I’ve got a feeling something big is brewing…
