And then I trembled...

“It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been in a church service where I trembled…”

Those are the words of Cory Mounce a member of the Crossings Launch Community. Cory, who along with 15 others of us from Knoxville, traveled to Community Christian Church in Naperville, Illinois this past weekend.
CCC & New Thing Network are two of the partners that are helping bring God’s vision of Crossings to fruition. As part of their monthly Leadership Community gathering of about 350-400 people, CCC & NTN officially commissioned us Saturday morning.

That’s where the trembling part comes in…

All 18 of us (including Kevin & Nicole Saylor who live here in the Chicago area, but will be coming back to Knoxville after grad school) were asked to come up on stage as the Leaders and staff of CCC/NTN prayed over us.

It’s really hard to describe the emotion of those next few moments…

As we approached the stage and either sat on the edge or knelt down on stage those in the audience began to applaud…and applaud…and then they stood, still applauding. I’m not sure how long it went on, but it seemed like a really long time.
All I could do was look at the other 17 people from Knoxville, my three children included, and smile with a great sense of pride and overwhelming joy. I looked at my wife, Monica, next to me and saw the tears flowing down her face, and then I saw our friend Tammy (who is part of CCC) trying so hard not to cry because she had to pray in just a moment, and standing on either side of me I saw Dave & Jon Ferguson, and Troy McMahon (three incredible men of God who have become such good friends), and then I realized exactly where we were…right in the middle of where God wants us to be…and then I trembled.

We're so jacked that you are doing what you are doing... and in a very real way, we are doing it together.

Mark, It was such a moving experience. Kevin and I felt so blessed to even be a part of it...it's so special when God makes it so clear at a certain time and place that he's letting you be a part of writing his big ol' story. The experience was big, and that seems the best word to describe it for me.

I wish I could go, but I'm afraid. My husband constantly beats me.
