Sunday Morning at The Orange Peel
I mentioned in my previous post our trip to Asheville, NC. What I didn’t mention was the wonderful worship experience we had at Highland Christian Church.Highland is a community of believers that is only 51 weeks old…My guess is there were around 300 people in attendance...(they are a Stadia East church plant as well)
They meet in The Orange Peel in downtown Asheville, a ‘Concert Venue featuring “the very best in live music and cultural arts.” Check out the pictures on the web site…it’s a great space, (although I'm sure they'll outgrow it soon) I'm definitely experiencing ‘venue envy’…
The experience of worship and participating in the community that exists at Highland felt so very good…
Check out their web site. You can watch videos, hear teachings, and experience worship. Shannon McCready and his staff are doing an amazing job of allowing God to lead them in being the church in downtown Asheville...

if location is only 10% of why people go to church...do you suppose ashville is too far east of neyland and kingston? they outgrow the orange peel right as we step in...sounds like God is putting together the puzzle pieces to me.

Maybe you can get the bijou or the tennessee theater. If it is good enough for Lyle Lovette and Fiona Apple, it is surely good enough for God.
