103, 102, 101...
Finally, an update…My apologies, I have been such a ‘bad blogger’ the past couple of weeks…(a week of vacation with family and catching up after being gone is a good excuse, but I’ll try not to use it)
Things with Crossings (the new church God is planting in Knoxville) continue to speed along… Some things are at light speed and others at a tortoise pace. Let me try and update you just a little…
-Our launch date is 2.11.07…103 days away.
-We have a Launch Community (those who have come to us with interest in being part of Crossings) that has grown to over 70 people. We continue to meet twice a month on Friday evenings through December.
-We are awaiting word with a final confirmation for a meeting space. (I will wait til we know for sure before I announce it) We should know within 2 weeks.
-We are being commissioned this weekend in Naperville, Illinois at the Community Christian Church as a church plant of the New Thing Network. We have 16 people traveling to Chicago on Friday.
-Our new logo will be unveiled here on my blog next week
Each and every day seems to have a ‘significant moment’ in the planting and growing of Crossings. It is amazing to be a part of something like this. As I spoke about at our last Launch Community gathering, there are very few opportunities in life where you are allowed to participate at such a level in such an adventure in such a unique way that God can use to change the world.
God is so good to let us be a part of all this…
shalom,
mark

So many exciting things to hear about God being up to. You all in ktown are on my mind and in my prayers a lot as the launch date nears.
Yay! You'll be in Chicago. Is this commissioning going to be part of one of the services? If so, which one? I really want to be there to support ya'll.- at 9:38 AM Mark Nelson said...
Nicole...
The commissioning service is on Saturday morning at Leadership Community. I think the plan is: the first one is at 9am at the Yellow Box, and another one is at Romeoville later in the morning. We'd love for you to join us...and be commissioned with us. What do you say?

Hi Mark,
Steph P. gave me the link to your blog...glad to see this is in motion! I'm excited about what you guys are doing. And 70 people---that's an amazingly huge launch community! I'm praying for your church and hopefully can stop by next fall when i'm in the States.
Steph said you're raising finances for the church--can you send me the giving information? My address is kelly@oasismadrid.org.
