From parched to overflow...
If you read the previous post you’ll be pleased to know, I feel better now…(no more zit references)
Yesterday, after the church planter training ended, I hopped in my rental car and drove…and drove…and drove…it was great. I headed out from Sacramento (actually Rocklin) and drove toward east. As is my tendency, I found my way to some major back roads starting with Auburn and moving on toward Placerville and eventually ending up at Lake Tahoe.
Mountains and rivers and skinny little one-lane bridges and watching the sun set…It was beautiful…absolutely gorgeous.
I found a church with the name, get this, The Motherlode Church (I took a picture)…isn’t that a great name for a church. I’m not sure they believe in Jesus or anything, but it’s a great name…
I drove for 6 hours…from 4:30pm til 10:30pm. It felt really good.
And then today, on the flight from Sacramento to Kansas City (which is where I am as I write this), I read this line in an Anne Lamott book I’m reading: “It’s like going from parched to overflow in the blink of an eye”, and I thought, “yeah, that’s exactly what I’m talking about.”
It’s amazing what God can do through His creation…
May God be praised for the overflow…

Hey, great blog! I got this from the emerging minister blog. I was wondering how you designed your blog and how you got that pick at the top. I'd love to do something similar. If you could email me any help, i'd appriciate it.
Thanks!- at 8:36 PM Mark Nelson said...
