See if you can guess what I am now…

I’m finishing up church planting training in Sacramento, CA this afternoon (Thursday). We have been going strong, about 12 hours a day, since Monday morning. It has been incredibly informative and absolutely overwhelming.
Let me try and describe how my brain feels at this very moment, a mere 1 hour and 39 minutes til we finish…

Do you remember the classic movie Animal House, about the Delta House Fraternity set in 1962 at the fictitious Faber College.
Do you remember that scene in the cafeteria when Bluto (John Belushi) goes through the food line? As Sam Cooke sings “What a Wonderful World”, Bluto, the true stereotype of a Frat Boy, overflows his tray with food, eating desserts as he goes, getting food all over himself and the cafeteria.

He sits down at the table with the Fraternity and Sorority Preps to eat. The girl across the table from him looks at him and says, “That boy is a P-I-G, Pig”.
Bluto responds by saying, “See if you can guess what I am now…” and proceeds to put mashed potatoes in his mouth, chewing, and then hitting his cheeks with his fists and spitting it all out on everyone sitting at the table. “I'm a zit.” Belushi says, “Get it?”

After almost 50 hours of training and taking in volumes and volumes of information for four straight days and trying to process all these hundreds of steps that go into planting a church…that scene from Animal House seems to be descriptive of the state of my brain…

So…"See if you can guess what I am now…"(Is that deeply theological or what...)

So, if we don't answer, are you going to spray mashed potatos in our faces?

Gross.
