M4...Knoxvegas bound

My wife and 3 children just pulled out of the driveway a few moments ago (6:30am), they are on their way back to Knoxville. Hopefully they will arrive around 6pm EST or so...
The car was loaded down...all their clothes, guitars, X-box paraphernalia, American Girl Jess, 4 bikes on the back of the car and all that crap they bought at IKEA...Meghan should be comfortable tied to that luggage rack. (You should see the pile of stuff that's left for me to bring home in two weeks, I think I'll need to rent a U-Haul.....24 footer.)

I will miss my family terribly...
I have another week here in Chicagoland, 2 days in Evansville, IN for a college conference, and then I fly to Sacramento, CA for a church planter equipping lab.
So that means I won't see my family for 14 days...(Did I mention that I will miss them terribly)

My family breathes life into my world...just in the past 12 hours: The laughter at Applebee's mocking the songs playing over the sound system while playing the 'dot game' with Meghan and listening to Matthew (in true Golden Retriever form) defend the waitress for screwing up our order...the loud singing of 'Find your Grail' from Spamalot on the way home...sitting around the largest television in the world and watching a movie late last night...
See, breath and joy and laughter and a deep, deep love...

     The adventure continues...

seriously, you don't want to mix "standing on the desk" and IKEA without a really good health plan.

As I sit typing at my IKEA desk, I would agree with that. I will do a lot of things with this desk, but I will not be standing on it.

Greg...considering your reluctance to stand on your desk...you know it's been said...

"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation"

It has also been said:

"Gather your inexpensive european furniture while ye may".

But if you listen closely...go ahead put your ear to the desk... Do you hear it? Do you hear the voice of the desk and all those desk in years gone by...Can you hear it?

"Caaaaarrrrpppeeee....caaarrrppee.....carpe deskum...seize the desk Greg...make your life extaordinary..."

Dear Mark,
Looking for emergent conversations on my side of the world, I stumbled upon your blog. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the deal in Kville.
