Final thoughts about the Summit…

As I mentioned before, last week’s Leadership Summit was tremendous…just a great time of learning about leadership. (For those of you at Crossings last week, the video we showed was premiered to us at the Summit last Friday)

Some final thoughts…some of my favorite quotes from some of the speakers…

Bill George…

-“In our culture today…We’re choosing leaders based on charisma, style and image…no wonder we’re having a leadership troubles…”

Bill Hybels…(after having discussed the place of axioms in a leaders life)

-“Do you reflect on your leadership enough that you are acting upon your own leadership axioms?”

Gary Haugen…

-“If you want your leadership to matter…lead in the things that matter to God.”

-“Sometimes God is calling you to serve in a world that seems hopeless…simply, give what you have…the required miracles are his not ours.”

-“We lead by reminding people that Jesus came to make us brave---not safe.”

-“Lead people on a journey that is unsafe and the only way to travel this journey is with God…”

Catherine Rohr was tremendous as well…but she was so engaging that I had a hard time taking notes, so no quotes from her…
