Is it really that good?

Okay, enough already with the superlatives describing the new Batman movie, Dark Knight.

Is it really that good?

“The greatest movie I’ve ever seen in my life!” “It’s one of those you will discuss forever….with issues about justice, right and wrong.” “The Heath Ledger thing is not a hype, he really is that good, one of the greatest characters ever in a movie.” (All of these comments are from Adam York today at book club, but resemble every other comment I’ve heard since the movie released last Thursday)

I plan on seeing it, absolutely, I’m just scared that you all have set the bar so high that I might be disappointed…

I assume some of you have seen it…your thoughts?

i don't know if it's something people will be discussing forever. People where saying that about Cloverfield.

But i must say the one preview i saw of the Joker, i honestly didn't think i'd like the villian. Thankfully though my suspicions where wrong on how the character was played.

I didn't know it was heath ledger until after the movie. I never would have guessed it was him. He played the part really well.

enjoy

I thought it was a great movie and held up to the hype. I blogged a bit about it as well...

i think it's truly fantastic. but i love this genre of movies big time. it just happens that this one is really good and stacks well with other movies of other genres.

you won't believe how well ledger plays his part.

It's pretty darn good. I however, think I enjoyed the first one more. The background storyline is just a hard one to beat. That doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the second one, but I think I will watch the first one more than I will watch this one.

BTW, were you aware that this is the first batman movie to not have the word "batman" in the title? Just your daily trivia from cousin Jake.

Really impressive. IMAX experience was great. Tiny, tiny complaint- I just can't take the deep voice thing Bale does as Batman. I get what he was trying to do, but that doesn't mean that I like it. Does Batman have a cold or need a cough drop? Is it allergies? What is the problem?
