In the beginning…on 9.7

We’ve decided ‘officially’ which story we’re going to enter into this next year at Crossings.

I think we’ve known for a few months now, but until a few of us could get a way for a couple of days and put together a plan, a syllabus, some big ideas I wasn’t willing to ‘officially pull the trigger’…

Well, five us did just that last Thursday and Friday…Bill (worship/arts), Mike (student community), Trevor (intern), Rafael (part of our community and prof at JBC) and myself spent a couple of days near Pigeon Forge in a cabin wrestling around with the text and seeking God’s leading on how we’re to go about teaching through the first book of the Bible, Genesis, this year at Crossings…beginning 9.7.

Of course, we had to stop on the way home at the world renown monument in Sevierville…the statue of Dolly Parton (a trip to Sevierville is just not complete without this experience)

I’ll write more on our philosophy at Crossings of teaching through a book of scripture as opposed to other options sometime soon…

You better not be making fun of Dolly Parton. I'm serious... don't make me come out there.

The church I want to attend regularly has been going through the book of Romans. Foothills Bible Church is the name of the place and it's pretty great. I can't wait to download their podcasts AND yours! I saw Brian D. when he was in Pueblo and we talked a lot about Crossings and ministry styles. One thing's for sure, CMC was one of my best times ever (thank you!) for seeing people living out their faith.

Anywho, it's very exciting hearing about Crossings!

Best,
