Greatest Match Ever?
I just finished watching, possibly, the greatest tennis match ever…Rafael Nadal just beat Roger Federer 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7 in the Wimbledon Final. Every year I seem to miss the Wimbledon final because it starts at 9am on Sunday mornings and is usually over by the time I get home on Sunday. Not today.
It still began at 9am, but didn’t finish until 4:20pm. (It was a good excuse to not trim the bushes this afternoon) Over 5 hours of tennis with a couple of rain delays in the middle.

I really wanted Federer to win, it would have been his record breaking 6th title in a row, breaking Bjorn Borg’s record. (Borg is from my era) But the match was so amazing it really didn’t matter in the end…
Now…if we could just have had a different result in the women’s singles… Oh well, at least Ricky/Serena didn’t win…

That was completely amazing. I was for Nadal going in but when I turned it on he was up 2 sets to none and as I watched I ended up pulling for Federer. You're right though... after a match like that, who cares... it was just great tennis.

I was for Nadal, because he's left-handed. Isn't that brilliant?

Justin...You left-handers always stick together...

wasn't that great, getting home from church and realizing there's plenty left to watch? i was dumbfounded with some of their cross-court, almost directly sideways hit winners. wow. and could john mcenroe have been any more enthralled?

New book recommendation:
"How To Have Kick-Ass Ideas", by Chris Barez-Brown.
It's about creativity by a secular creativity guru. Some parts are definitely worth reading for anyone who appreciates art in general and the creation of.
Some parts are certainly 'salty', as they say. Keep that in mind.- at 6:03 PM said...

I too was pulling for Federer, but it was an incredible match! I'm glad the men play best 3/5 sets - the result would have been the same as 2/3, but man! The extra 2 sets were incredible.
Btw, hi Mark and Monica! :-)
