And all the people said...

Last week I posted some responses to the question: “After 12 weeks what does this baby look like? What does is faith community we call Crossings consist of, what qualities and characteristics are rising to the top?

Last week I gave you the answers from our Lead Team (a group of about 8 leaders). This week I want to give you the answers that our Leadership Community (a group of 30-40) gave to the question this past Saturday morning.

After 12 weeks, some words that defines this faith community:

-acceptance
- real
- caring
- sense of humor
- extremely energetic
- focus on the positive (celebrates wins)
- equality/respect
- careful of our language not to exclude
- inquisitive
- unity, connectedness
- safe place
- a place where individual gifts are needed
- beehive effect (integrated & holistic)
- if we err, we err on the side of grace
- relaxed (you can come as you are)
- a real family
- ownership
- all about people, not programs
- we feel we are right where we are supposed to be (numbers and beyond)
- foundation, foundation, foundation
- we get the mission: helping people find their way back to God – (we continue to hear the whisper of God in our ear, reminding of us of His desires)
At the end of the discussion, Anyssa Blackburn said, “Hmmm, you know what, everyone of these answers…you could say “that is what Jesus is”.
