This blog brought you by the letter ‘V’…
Yesterday at Crossings I taught about Wholeness, one of our five values. We so want to be complete, to be whole...as a portion of the value states: We desire a community that resembles the perfect balance of grace and truth found in the person of Jesus.
So often we think it has to be grace V. truth, or rational V. emotional, or concern for the physical V. spiritual. When instead I think it’s less about playing one against the other, and more about the ‘Paradox of the And’. Grace AND truth, rational AND emotional, physical AND spiritual. (sorry, I’ll stop teaching…)
Because of this emphasis on ‘V’… Bill Wolf, our worship & arts guy, put together an intro to my talk…which was brought to us by the letter ‘V’…it’s really good.
