The art of celebrating 'wins'...
This past summer I learned so many things while participating in a leadership residency at Community Christian Church in Naperville, IL.Far too numerous to list them all here…
But one of the many things that we’ve tried to adopt and adapt from CCC at Crossings has been the practice of ‘celebrating wins’. This discipline of highlighting the amazing things we see God do in this faith community.
Each Monday morning, I send out an e-mail to our leaders asking for the ‘wins’ from the previous day, and then throughout the day I read e-mail after e-mail that illumines how good God is…
Here are just a few…(we invite you to celebrate with us)…
-"People we have known who have no relationship with any church
coming...reading new books...asking new questions...AND...bringing friends'
-'Kids' City was just amazing and the leaders just took all of those extra kids and acted like they have always known them. Also...Jake "Captain Longbeard" and Metro Jonathan were a hit!'
-'Efficiency!!! The set up and take down were seamless. No hitches at
all. Things seem to get better each week…. even the
rain couldn't put a damper on the unloading and it was pouring.'
-'We had two little ones in Wiggle Way who had never been left by their
moms. Both did great, and both moms were put at ease with our care.'
-'Great to hear Bill breaking it down, musically and anecdotally on the stage.'
'The energy level is fantastic, across the board. Don't know if Mark will say we've hit a groove yet, but we're as close to one as I've seen.'
And my favorite…
"What did I do before Crossings? Whatever it was... I don't miss it a bit."
