Never fear...the ball still dropped
The night always involves the following:
- a lighted, foiled beach ball suspended from an elaborate pulley system from the highest point of our roof
- a hockey helmet & a light sabre & me standing on the roof
- plastic champagne glasses full of some kind of ginger ale and sprite concoction
- and finally, singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to my son Matthew at 12:01 am
We arrived home from the airport at 11:45 pm, just in time to unload the suitcases, string the ball up in the living room, break out the hockey helmet and light sabre and count down to 2007. (Happy Birthday Matthew!)
May you all have a happy and joyous new year!
