Wait 'til next year...

I assume that as you read the above title to this post that many of began to think, “Oh, no…here comes another lament from a distraught Chicago Cubs fan”…

Well, fret not. This has nothing to do with the Cubs (Although 2007 could be the Cubs year, so you better get your lives ‘right’ because Jesus will come back if they ever do win the World Series).

I’ve been reading some blogs the last couple of days from different pastors out there in the blogosphere. I’ve read their accounts of great times of worship over Christmas, about incredibly moving services with great numbers of people and I thought…”Hmmm, you know I got nothing…” No stories to share about some amazingly funny kid’s program, no tales about wax dripping off the candles and burning someone’s hand while singing Silent Night, not even any reminiscing about video clips in the service from ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’…

But then I thought…”Ah, but wait til next year.”

It is with great anticipation and expectation that we trust God to play out His vision for this faith community that we are calling Crossings. (Only 44 days until launch)

As my friend Tim Sutherland told me on the phone tonight…”You’re remembering the future. God is doing a great thing in 2007.”

Amen…and go Cubs!
