10 days of vision...
Day eight…We dream of Crossings being a community where…
…Each person understands how God has created them and they use those gifts as a rhythmic community
Comments on number 7…about immersing ourselves in our communities…
“I think it just means to love where you live in every sense of that phrase.”
“I think the key to this one is a lens--new eyes--not necessarily a position on a board or going door-to-door with petitions. Are there needs not being met within our sphere of influence and, if not, what can we do with what we have been given to meet those needs, be they physical, mental, emotional, spiritual?”
“This seems like it will be the hardest to actually accomplish of all the ones you've listed so far.”

Tall order! I am 40 and just figuring out some of my gifts- and I know I have more treasure troves to find and unwrap.
Ultimately and incredibly I believe we are created for friendship with God. I do see each one of us having gifts to use on behalf of one another in our journey- Sam, Gimley, Frodo, Legolas, Aragorn types of offerings.- at 8:46 AM said...
Tru dat, Truvyne. Also, I'm not sure that the gifts are static. Kind of like in those Myers Briggs analyses, it's not a question of being 100% one characteristic to the total detriment of others; we just have some that tend to stick out more. But the other, maybe more hidden gifts, will surely get used, too. We know from a biological standpoint that every cell has a purpose (though we may not have fully ascertained the unique offerings of, say, the appendix or the tonsils--but wait, we will, and it's too late for my appendix). I'd posit that this goes for talents, skills, experiences, too. It's all going to get used on the way, folks, so as Mark noted Friday night, no burying!
