The new phone books are here!
The new phone books are here…We’re somebody now!The task of finding a meeting place for Crossings has been an interesting adventure…
My expectation of the process was…well, I’m not really sure I had an expectation. Finding a meeting location to gather to worship and study is not something I had ever done.
We went from an initial vision of a specific dance club in the Bearden area to calling every high school, middle school and elementary school in a 10 mile radius, to exploring the option of leasing a building, doing some remodeling and having access to it 7 days a week. All of those options hit the wall for various reasons (weekly cost was too high, not enough staff to open the building for us, no space for children, we can’t afford the utilities costs, something about me being from the north.)
Movie theatres are always options for new churches to meet in, but there was one problem with that…there were no movie theatres in our original geographic area we were targeting…so, as a result of our ups and downs in locating a space, we broaden our area 2 miles and were able to choose from two theatres: One at the mall and the other the ‘arts/independent film’ theatre in town.
Well, the mall is, well it’s the mall. Need I say more…
The other theatre…well, it’s next the some of the best Chinese food in town. Need I say more…
So, working with National CineMedia out of Colorado (there is just one organization nationally that books all Regal, AMC & Cinemark Theatres) we have finally worked out an agreement.
So…(here’s where the drum roll comes in)…we would like to officially announce that Crossings will officially launch on February 11th, 2007 at…
Downtown West Cinema 8
1640 Downtown West Blvd
Let the parade begin…
