If you have Cheesecake, they will come…

(It’s actually best if you say the above title in a whisper, sort of like that voice in Field of Dreams)

Yesterday was Crossings’ first birthday…what a great day it was to be together in community.

We had 287 people come to worship and study with us. (I believe most of them came to get the free Eli’s Cheesecake from Chicago, I’ll write more about that later)

This picture is one I took from stage with my cell phone as I began the teaching. (You always have to take pictures at birthday celebrations…)

We had 51 kids & adults back in Kids’ City…the most we’ve ever had. Those theatre hallways are busting at the seams.

We spent the morning celebrating all that God has done at Crossings over the past year…We sang songs of thanksgiving, our preschoolers sang “My God is so Big” as part of worship and our elementary kids recited a verse of scripture for us and then prayed for us as a community.

As well as thanking God for the story He is written so far at Crossings, we also spent time thinking about what our story is suppose to be this next year. (More on those later as well)

It was such a good day…
