New Walls...
If you don’t already know, Crossings meets in a movie theatre. Downtown West. Theatre. It’s the ‘art house movie theatre’ in town, meaning no blockbuster type movies, just the kind that are really good but no one goes to see. It’s also the oldest theatre in town. You wouldn’t know that to look at it, but I’m told it’s been around at least 25 years and other old theatres are no more.
People who aren’t familiar with ‘church in the theatre’ always give me a weird look when I explain that two-thirds of our Kids’ City programs meet in the hallways of the theatre.
Honestly it works great…our leaders do an amazing job of creating a safe, inviting and extremely fun environment for the kids that are coming. There is great flexibility and the square footage available is not bad.
The flexibility played out this past week as we officially doubled the size of “Jump Street”, our area for 4 & 5 year olds.
Here’s a picture…we simply expanded the size of the room by moving the portable black walls (storage crates) back and purchasing more of these great multi-colored mini-walls so we now have twice the space divided into to two sections.
We went from one room 18 X14, to two rooms 16 X 14.
Obviously the best part of all this is the reason we had to do this: more and more and more kids!
May we love and care for these children and may we play our part in making Jesus so very real to them.

The set up for the kids area is very neat. When a friend of ours explained it I thought it sounded crazy. But it really works! It is very clean and organized. My son, Eli, is in the Jump Street class. He loves it! He also loves his teacher Michelle and her helper Megan.
