Possibly the greatest ever...

There is great joy in Knoxville today…The University of Tennessee Lady Vols are NCAA Champions! (If you listen carefully you can hear Rocky Top being played endlessly)

They won the title last night in Cleveland.
You’ve just got to love Pat Summitt. Aside from John Wooden (my hero), there’s never been a greater coach in all of college basketball, maybe in all of sports.

In addition to Summitt there’s Candace Parker. (Again I will use the ‘great’ word in my description)
This six foot four basketball phenom could possibly become the greatest women’s player ever, if she isn’t already. Such amazing skill, and she’s only a sophomore.

It’s a good day to be in Knoxville…especially if you like orange.

It almost eases the sting of what happened to the men....

but not quite.

Greg...c'mon, you can do it...let it go.

By the way, the discussion on Knoxville Sports Radio this morning was people complaining because the Lady Vols didn't put their hands over their hearts during the national anthem...you gotta love those fans...

From what I heard about Parker she was walking at 8 months and dribbling a basketball by a year and a half. She was 50" tall in kindergarten. She is unreal and coming back for her junior year I hear. Maybe she is hoping to play against Noah from Florida. No wait he just looks like a girl.

And because Candace Parker is from Naperville, the past couple of years they actually cover the Lady Vols up here in the artic north of Chicago.

I danced in the living room when the Lady Vols won!

Mark - You and Candace have something in common. You both spent time in Naperville before starting a new adventure in Knoxville. Oh, and you're both exceptional at what you do!
