Joaquin v. Dave…real or a hoax?

Below is a very funny clip from last night’s Late Show with David Letterman. He’s interviewing Joaquin Phoenix…

I really don’t have words to adequately describe it, it barely makes sense…except, regardless of what is going on, it’s stinking funny…

Letterman is simply the best…

If the youtube clip doesn't work below, try this link... Letterman/Phoenix

I must say, I've become less of a Letterman fan the older he's gotten...especially his not-funny jokes to start the show...but, I'm not sure if any of the other hosts (Leno, Conan, Kimmel, etc) could have pulled off this interview and actually made it funny, interesting, and authentic. Dave pulled off some of his late 80's form right there.

When I saw the preview for that interview I immediately set the DVR to record it. Even though I am not a huge Letterman fan any more, I had to see that. And Letterman was hilarious. I kept thinking Joaquin was going to come out of his act. I loved when Letterman said he was going to put him in the rolodex.

You have to wonder why he was allowed out in public like that?!

Wasn't there someone to say..."uh, Jaoquin isn't feeling well right now. Maybe next time."?

It's official; it was a hoax. I don't have the link right now but there is an extra clip on youtube where when he walks off stage and laughs and comes back to Dave and shakes his hand saying 'thank you'.
