My Deliverer…

We are taking some time in December at Crossings to study the Christmas Story through the OT book of Isaiah.

A lot of what we discussed the first week was the context into which Isaiah words were written…Trying to understand the darkness of the times, and the impact of the words of hope Isaiah spoke.

I think we miss the fact that, in many ways, the words “For a child has been born—for us…there'll be no limits to the wholeness he brings.” (Isa. 9, TM) should mean the same thing to us today as it did to God’s people 700-800 years before Jesus was born…with one major difference: For us, the waiting is over.

This past week, the 2nd in the series, we had some of our Kids’ City help us out in trying to understand the waiting for this child…
They sang, with the band, My Deliverer from Rich Mullins…it was tremendous.
