Please come home…
My wife and children have been at camp in Coker Creek, Tennessee since Sunday afternoon. They are all serving as staff at a week for 3rd & 4th graders…about 50 kids total, I think.
I went and visited on Tuesday afternoon. What an amazing thing to see your children stepping up to lead and care for others. All three are serving as family group leaders, and all three are leading ministry groups: Michael is teaching kids basic Spanish, Matthew is showing kids how to learn scripture through music, and Meghan choreographed a dance that she is teaching some campers that they will perform sometime during the week.
I have seen Monica serve and lead and love people since the day I met her at a youth sponsors meeting in Dennis Wheeler’s home almost 21 years ago. That I know.
But to see faith in God start to play itself out in your children in such a real and tangible way, it’s a good thing.
They come home this morning…I’m so excited to see them, and love on them, and to hear story after story of 3rd & 4th graders finding their way to God.
And then I’ll let them sleep for two days…
