From the land of the Louisville Slugger...
I arrived in Louisville, Kentucky last evening...(home of the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory. I know that sounds like fun to no one but me) I am here for the North American Christian Convention, http://nacctheconnectingplace.org/ The convention begins this afternoon and continues til Thursday...(I'll be back in Chicago by Wednesday around 6pm)I hadn't planned on coming this week, (I was looking forward to a semi-normal week for a change, but alas...), but I was encouraged by some of the groups partnering with us that this would be a great place to see many, many people that I know and share the vision of what we believe God is calling us to in Knoxville...so here I am, hoping that I might meet Rick Pitino (maybe he'll support this 'new thing') or maybe some famous race horse (Is Seabiscuit still alive?).
The NACC is always a great time of seeing old friends. There are about 15,000 people at the convention each year... It's difficult to walk 15 feet without seeing someone you know...(about 80% of those people you actually want to see) If you haven't learned yet, I am an expert at the game "Six Degrees of separation from Johnson Bible College" (my apologies to Kevin Bacon).
I pray that God leads and guides me to right conversations, to the right people...there is so much to learn about church planting, and there is so much wisdom here at this convention.

One specific prayer request...Monica took Michael to the eye doctor this morning, it appears he has some kind of infection in his eye...
